Floor Waxing Services

Have you noticed that your hardwood floors are looking a little dingy lately? Whether it’s just in high-traffic areas or your floors could use a sprucing all over, stripping and waxing services are a great way to get your floors back into tip-top shape, make them stronger and give them more longevity in your home.

Although you may be tempted to tackle this project on your own—floors that need stripped and waxed require a lot of specialized tools and know-how to get the job done right. To get high-quality work for your flooring, it’s recommended that you turn to a professional hardwood flooring company.

Kiwi Services has been in the floor care business for over 33 years, and we know a thing or two about how to provide services that are safe, effective and that our customers trust.

Here’s what you need to know about our floor waxing services.

Getting Your Floors Stripped and Waxed by Kiwi

Getting your floors stripped and waxed can be a nerve-wracking experience. You want to ensure that they don’t get damaged—or change colors—in the process. Luckily, our technicians are highly experienced and trained in floor stripping and floor waxing services and will take the time to evaluate your particular hardwood flooring to make sure we’re doing the right treatment.

In general, here is what a floor waxing service with Kiwi will look like:

  1. A thorough cleaning

Before a coat of wax even touches your floor, it’s first things first: Your floor has to be cleaner than a whistle. Your technician will arrive, evaluate your flooring, and then start the cleaning process to ensure that every surface of the floor is completely rid of dust. If we didn’t start out the process this way, the stripping solution wouldn’t apply evenly and it could make a huge mess of your floors.

  1. The stripping solution is applied

After they’ve ensured that the floor is completely free of debris, your tech will apply the stripping solution. Then, using a wet-dry vacuum, they will remove the sealant and floor finish. This step in the process may take the longest, as they will need to continually change out their mop buckets with clean water as to make sure that every single bit of the finish is taken out. After this step has been completed, the floor will be rinsed entirely and the stripping solution will be gone.

  1. A mopping to clean the floors before the wax is applied

Before the wax is applied (the final step), your technician will mop the floors thoroughly to get every last square inch of stripping solution out of the flooring. This step could take one hour to several, which will largely depend on how big the area they’re treating is.

  1. The wax is applied

Finally, your technician will apply the floor wax. The wax is applied in sections and will take several coats. Your technician will painstakingly ensure that the wax is applied evenly and efficiently to get your floors gleaming.

Kiwi Hardwood Floor Cleaning Services

Sometimes you don’t need your floors to get stripped and waxed for them to shine again—you just need a thorough cleaning. Our floor cleaning services can get grime, debris, and stains out of the planks, which can often make them appear dull or dingy.

Our hardwood floor cleaning process looks like this:

  • A thorough evaluation of your laminate hardwood flooring, including identification of finish type and sealant used
  • A cleaning and mopping to eliminate dust and dirt
  • A gentle buffing, waxing and polishing to remove stains that are on the surface level and deep below the surface
